1987 Subaru XT GL-10 - $250 (Miles City)
I have a seized 1987 Subaru XT GL-10, this is the turbo AWD model. It has some rust underneath, but the car is very straight, it would be excellent for parts for any XT. I don’t have a title. 250 OBO [number in listing]

If I had a way to get it to STL I would buy it. Also need a place to store it.
But the want is strong.

More $500 race cars need asymmetric steering wheels. Also: this is a potential IOE winner :D

Despite being from different brands it looks very similar to my rally car. Rally will take place February 2016. Bought for €120, then parked for 6 years. The interior of the Honda is very different though, possibly due to the insanely low mileage.

Needs more 914 swap. I like it!

Why would you put an air-cooled engine in it?
![]() 09/11/2015 at 14:03 |

Those engines have a horrible habit of self-destruction. Almost everyone I’ve known who had one has blown it up, and I’ve personally had two of them fail on me.
The N/A ones are bulletproof though. Best option is to swap in an N/A multiport injected one from a nonturbo XT. You’ll lose 18 hp and 31 lb-ft but go from an engine that’s as delicate as a flower to one that’s damn near unkillable. Direct swap too, no wiring required and you don’t even have to replace the ECU.

XT’s are surprisingly hard to find now. I had a non-turbo one that I really enjoyed. The performance wasn’t too sporty for a sports car, but it was unkillable and it felt like being in an alternate universe where the future was everything the 80’s promised it would be: joysticks and buttons in weird places.

do it.

Learned to drive in a manual N/A version of that car. For being N/A, it had just enough torque in 1st and 2nd to get up and go...felt almost as fast as it looked. (I could start her moving in 2nd gear, and spin the tires.)
It was a great little car.

I’m sure the air suspension is working really well though.

I wanna race your shitty 80’s Japanese coupe in my own shitty 80’s japanese coupe. FWD shitbox race?
BTW that Prelude looks pretty saveable and clean from here.

Look closer (in real life). A lot of rust in there. Very low kms though, maybe 60k or so. My brother in law bought it in 2008 or 2009 for €120 :) It hasn’t been started since. Fourth gear didn’t work back then, 1-3 and 5 did.
Edit: about that race: you’re on! You’re so going to lose. Look up the specs for the mid 80s Prelude. 0-100 kmh in 9.5 seconds, 105 hp dual carb, 975 kg.

I have ehh.. About 84 hp ...
But it only weighs 920 kilos, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
Do bodykits make me go faster? Because then I’ll surely win.
